MY PHOTOGRAPH STORY
3rd of October 2022-When and Why I Started Photography

At the end of 2017, I moved to England and started to practice as well street photography and walking around the town without knowing how to approach a stranger for taking pictures, I regularly found myself nervous and sometimes got myself into being rejected after a long conversation. However, I managed to have some people who were very interested in my work I explained to them about the learning process and they allowed me to have their picture.

From the middle of 2018 till the present, I am digging deep into event photography such as weddings, baptisms, birthdays, landscape photography, long exposure, and a bit o indoor studio photoshoots also some other outdoor events that I can access for little support.
All of those practices that I have done made me more eager to put myself into it as there is so much to learn formally because I have not decided yet on which photograph path I have to take.
Today, the 3rd of October 2022, I am starting a new journey as a photography student in my first year of formal education. My goal is to gain the best formal knowledge of education in photography to fulfil my dream as a professional.
7th-9th of October 2022
I was at Oxford to start shooting my Photo book project based on my proposal. I have done no photoshoots that tell a story, however during my stay in oxford I learned about how to really use what you have to capture the story without directing the model.
9th of October 2022
It was the day my first time visited the Bop 2022 Photo book library/exhibition at Paintwork along with the Martin Parr Foundation. during my visit, I talked to a couple of people who were there as a photographer and also some of them produce books as their passion.
I learned about how the darkroom works using a wet plate and water and the man allowed me to record the video. I have asked a couple of questions as well to a ladies at the library about how she produced the book manually.

Studio Lighting Introduction, 10th Oct 2022
I have never been in a professional studio lighting to be a photographer myself in my life for taking portraits. today the 10th Oct 2022 I learned something new about lighting in a studio in a proper way. There are a few lighting techniques that required my full attention on how to do it correctly. oh yeah, I mean suitable studio lighting with standard studio flash, softbox, brolly a.k.a umbrella, not regular speedlight. I have been told that with proper studio lighting, you can create the look of character that you wanted to produce in your project.
I knew exactly that many photographers out there have always carried along compact studio lighting with them such as beauty dishes, brolly and small softboxes for their portrait shoots but I did not understand for certain how they use these tools until today when I see it again with my own eyes and practice it as well with a couple shoots to understand every detail. One thing that needs to be ensured is every little slight change in light position and the power of light flash really puts much difference into the result that you are looking for, it is recommended to understand all lighting techniques name as Rembrandt light, broad light, short light, butterfly light, clamshell light, loop light, split light etc…to create the looks that we needed. really it is something that I have to play with it with many trials to understand properly.

UNDERSTANDING NARATIVE, 13/10/2022
I have made a slight change to my proposal story project today as I have discovered a new way to make my story stand out to the audience.
The changes are first rewriting my story title from “The Unconditional Love” to ” A Cerebral Palsy in a boy”. The second was I was narrowing the story to focus on the boy instead of his mum.
The reason I made is that I believe that narrowing the story will guide the readers to understand more about the topic of the story and will simplify the project without losing the meaning or body of the story.
Now, I remember Mike stated ” Pick a simple story” I did not understand much back then, but now I am really relieved that I have simplified the story to emphasise the narrative. In this situation, I believe I am on the right path to finish the project accordingly.
Opportunity to volunteer at an event in Bristol Charity, 15/10/2022.
On this day I am starting another opportunity as a volunteer event photographer with the Bristol Charity in Vassal Centre.
I am excited because I have got permission from the charity to archive all my works in my blogging. In this part of the work, I am going to experiment to do the project to tell a story by documenting how people attend the Affordable Christmas Fair event.
I assume there will be more disabled people attending.

However, this is my first time in a professional way. I am still not quite sure how to approach people. I have to find out more from many sources like books or genuine websites and probably discuss it more in detail with Mike on how to approach it properly.
Received three books from Humberto (a friend of mine), 15/10/2022.
Humberto was a FdA student of digital design graphics from the City of Bristol College last year and now he is with Plymouth University. last week 15th of October I had a very long and interesting conversation regarding the differences between the photography world in an academic way and a photographer in self-taught.
When we talked about how these two sides would do a review on the photograph, he expressed his thought on how he looks at the work of a professional academically and professionally self-taught are two things that are extremely different.
a person with academic knowledge will tell a story of a photograph precisely only by just looking at it and on the other side will look at the photography based on the quality of production.
Knowing his opinion literally reminds me of the photobook project that I am carrying out now, and it suddenly motivates me to study more about photography.
Afterwards, he sent me three PDF files of online books to demonstrate his support for me in my photography study.

21st October 2022-LOAN CAMERA AND LENSES FROM COLLEGE
Today, at 9.00am, I was standing by in the creative room to wait for either Joey or Nathalie to loan me a camera that I am going to use it shoot a graduation day of Mocha Ribeiro. However, I am going to use it as well to shoot my photo book project an ongoing process and I will use it as well to practice street photography. Probably I will submit the result to join a photography competition.
As I am going to have it for an entire week because next week is half term break, I will use the camera as much as I can to practice a lot including planning a Halloween portrait.
The cameras that I applied for are two full-frame cameras, a telephoto lens and one wide-angle lens. These two lenses are to cover the long-range shoot and the wide-range shoot for graduation day are perfectly matched.
After a few minutes of waiting, I went back to the media store room to pick up the gear.
What I managed to get is canon 6D, 24-105mmf/4, 17-40mm f/4 and 70-200mm f/4.
Well, I was expecting something more low-light capability. However, these are all I can have for now. I guess I am going to have to work it out to fit the project.

24th October 2022-SPOOKY B&W.
In Timor Leste, we do not have a tradition to wear a costume and mimicking death. However, we do have a day in the same year every November to celebrate the day of the death we called it “Loron Matebian” in Loron Matebian we went to the cemetery to deep clean the graveyard and the day before the “Loron Matebian” at night we would serve dinner and call out the name of the death (our family member) as a gesture to respect them and to remind ourselves of how important are them to us like we were together, and in the morning we would go the church and pray for them and also ask for them to pray for us as well because we still believe that they are the one close to the God.
This year I am experiencing how another culture celebrates the day of death in a different way like mimicking the costume of the death and harvesting the pumpkin. Therefore, I create this project just to compare the diversity of culture is really universal.

“I am so amazed by art. It pleases my soul and brings peace to me. When my finger is on the shutter button, I know that I am going to fulfil my soul. This is what I feel. “–Rikii Altamirano
25 October 2022-NIGHT PHOTOGRAPHY (Night Crawler)
This project is intended to give the POV of someone that loves to go out at night time.
I went out to a few places including revisiting someplace that I went to before only to give a POV of a “night crawler” and also practice my skill in low light situations.
These places such as; Clifton Suspension Bridge, Bristol Bridge, Millennium Square and Harbourside.
26 October 2022-STREET PHOTOGRAPHY
I would like to paste some online articles from Amateur Photography regarding “Street Photography” rules in the UK.
Be prepared to explain yourself
Know your rights
Respect personal privacy
Always read the small print
Play it safe
Be sensitive to cultural differences
Avoid obstructing thoroughfares
Be careful with captions
Don’t be a victim of crime
Understand the difference
Stand on public property
Obtain a model or property release
Be clear about what is ‘public’
Take care on public transport
Be aware of enhanced protection
Observe copyright laws
Don’t become a suspect
Based on these rules, I went out and practice street photography.
I have always wanted to practice street photography in my free time because this could allow me to learn and practice to photography when I am not ready. Doing so gives me how to think fast with any setting that is available to me to capture the photograph. This is a challenge that required time to master it. However, this can be done when you really know your gear capability.
Capture street photography is also something that we can call shooting unpredictable weather people, building, still object or moving object we have to fast to catch the moment.
Herewith are the photographs that I captured around Bristol City Centre in Boradmead, St pauls road and Bearpit.

27 October 2022-INSTAGRAM BORDER IN LIGHTROOM
Posting our work on social media to get exposed is sometimes very stressful.
The reason is that Instagram has its own image resolution and size which can be difficult.
Today, while observing all the professional photographers that I have followed on Instagram, I had seen many of them use a white border in all their photographs very clean. To be honest, when we post a photograph on Instagram, we do not have to add a white border to it. However, it just gives a more professional clean border, just like when we printed our photograph in a white frame and it would not cut our work to fit the Instagram size.
One photographer that I looked into her specific work is @EmilieSandy (Instagram id). her work is clean and very professionally posted.
Once observing her work I started to find out on youtube about “How to add a white border to the photo in Lightroom”
and I have found out there is an artist that does the process with Lightroom step by step and is easy to follow.
Therefore, I have attached his video from YouTube below, oh don’t forget to like his video, share and subscribe to it.
Here is the work that I have done with the tutorial above.

First Photo book Sample-31 October 2022
My first sample photobook, titled “Luis,” just finished printing, and I couldn’t be happier.
I’ve been proud of this photobook ever since I started making it during my very first week of classes at HE.
I realise that this may seem like a trivial task to some people. For me, however, this is a giant journey into the unknown because I have never attempted anything like this before.
Going through 3500 words on this project before it’s ready to print is a lot of work, especially at the start. But it’s worth it at the end when you’ve made something original.
Sample printing.

What I am expecting is next week I will print it on proper paper to hand it over.
12th November 2022-Timorese National Day called Massacre 12th Of November 2022
I was part of the event organiser as a photographer for the event. I shoot with canon 5D mark iv and a 24-105mm L lens.
What I have done was combine natural light and Speedlight to cover the event depending on sun/light conditions inside the venue.

The Timorese dance was initially passed down by Timorese ancestors.
commonly referred to as dahur, tebedai (in a circle), and bids.
These dances are typically performed to welcome visitors, to celebrate good news as a community, and occasionally to convey a sombre message to the populace when a family member has passed away in a particular Timor Leste location.
SECOND PROJECT, EDITORIAL PORTRAIT-14/11/2022
- First Day with Mike practised studio lighting on location
This week we are starting our new project where we will have it to print for pages professionally as the result of getting marked. While preparing for that project, we have been doing an outdoor photoshoot using studio light to explore the look of the Editorial Portrait project. It was really fun to have a go with the light set-up and help each other to learn the technique of how positioning the light on location.
The editorial portrait is a portrait used in a magazine, blog or any article written in a journal or online to tell a Story of a subject in the portrait itself.
- Here are the pictures of behind the scene

- Here are the pictures that came out from the camera in the contact sheet

- Second Day with Alice, practised Natural Light with reflectors
We all took part in this session as well. We helped each other by being a subject (models), a reflector man and also being the photographer.

It is all part of the Editorial Portrait practice.
Visiting RWA-23/11/2022
“Fantastic” yeah, fantastic is the right word for me as a student of photography when I can go and witness the magnificent arts of painting and photography. Some of the printing and framing in the RWA gallery are produced in Bristol Fine Art, Niche Frames and Hello Blue print according to the volunteer and a receptionist at RWA gallery.
My first impression of entering the building is that I am entering a heaven of Arts. Various Arts mounted on the wall refer to my being more active to participate in any event regarding arts in photography. The feeling that I get when entering was a vivid life. It was like everything around you comes alive in so many colourful versions.
The RWA open exhibition is currently open until 5th December 2022. it is a rare opportunity to gain experience with your work in one of the UK’s most prestigious and beautiful art galleries. The exhibition will be open from 28 January 2022-1 May 2023. I have submitted my work on cityscape at night time about Bristol in a series; I do not hope to win the competition but I do hope for the best experience in this kind of work as I am just a starter student of photography this year.

So many visitors come and go just because of the incredible arts.
Visiting an exhibition like this, helps me to understand the price to value art in frame or unframed. currently, the price range at the RWA exhibition is between £100.00-£60.000.00.
BRISTOL CHARITY-XMAS FAYRE EVENT-26/11/2022
I shot this event as part of my speed-light practice.
Event photography, graduation Party-26 November 2022
As I mentioned in the first paragraph blog a long time ago, I have not decided yet which photography genre I will become but at this stage, I am still exploring between indoor photoshoots or outdoor photoshoots in both portraiture or event such as weddings or else.
Now, I would like to record a couple shots that I created for Moises’s (my model in the editorial portrait) graduation party.

New gear, new setup-CaNon Eos R, Wed, 7 Dec 2022
After a very long wait, I finally received my new camera, a Canon EOS R version, with an adapter that allows me to use EF lenses with RF bodies a week ago.
The jump from the Lumix gh5’s 20.3 megapixels per picture to the eos r’s 30.3 megapixels per image seems like a decent deal to me.
The fact that the joystick button on this camera has been replaced with a button that looks like a camera slider gave me an odd initial impression of the device. When I got my start in photography with a Canon 700D version six years ago, I know that all Canon versions always come with a joystick. However, in recent years, since Canon began jumping into mirrorless cameras, they have loosened the grip on the joystick.

The Canon EOS R is a full-frame mirrorless interchangeable lens camera that was released by Canon in October 2018. It has a resolution of 30.3 megapixels.
In terms of photography, I consider it to be an excellent deal when compared to the beast 5D Mark iv, which has the same 35mm sensor size.
I am really excited to shoot with this camera since I can use all the EF lenses with an adapter to it and I can make photographs that are the same quality as those produced by the 5d Mark iv, which still maintains a price tag of more than £2,000.00 at the present time.
Lighting practice-6 Nov 2022-TEAM WORK

By changing the light direction and background, we can completely create something unique.
RESULT RWA Photo contest Failed….14 Dec 2022

Failed, but I am happy because this is my first time and it will raise more of my concern with it.
The next project of competition is ongoing,,,,,

3rd project-fine art photography-3rd august 2023
A new thing is coming to my dictionary of knowledge. Yes, a new list has been added to my dictionary about how to use film cameras in large format, medium format and 35mm format.
It is different from the digital camera but I did enjoy when practised with it since I have taken out one of the medium format cameras to play with it and it is a must for me because I am a student of photography.

Developing film in the dark room
It is always fascinating to have knowledge of old ways of how to go through film processing in a dark room.
In the lab processing film-10/01/2023
Obviously, the first time in the film processing lab was something new that I have never done in my life because I started my journey in photography with a digital camera. My feeling at that time was nervous, scared and worried.
Nervous because I have only seen it once a day before I process this film with my lecture in the studio, dark room and the lab.
Scared because I might mess up the whole process and get nothing from the film.
Worried because I do not remember but by read again the process listing in the lab, it made me understand it pretty well.

double exposure with medium format film camera-16/01/2023
To shoot the proper double exposure outside:
- You have to think that white will have no information use, black will fill up with information
- Both images must be one stop light less
- Put the first image/base image/model in the middle of the white background or white sky and then shoot the second image the three with to fill up the model face or body part that has black information with it.

<a href=”http://<iframe width=”560″ height=”315″ src=”https://www.youtube.com/embed/NEzO7QWgv-c?start=45″ title=”YouTube video player” frameborder=”0″ allow=”accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share” allowfullscreen>Here is the video on how to do it.
For the basic explanation of the Darkroom, I can find it in the book by book of Langford, M. and John, M., 1981. The Darkroom Handbook. Ebury Press.
DARKROOM EXPERIENCE-28 JAN 2023
My experience:
1. Shoot with film
2. Process the film in the lab
3. Develop the negatives in the darkroom
These entire processes increase my admiration for art and artists since it might take days to properly comprehend even a little piece of art.
I have a lot of respect for analogue artists because they are incomparable to digital artists nowadays. The process is really a pain in the ass.

VISIT RWA-PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBITION-31/01/2023
It is always interesting to visit an art gallery or exhibition. this time I went out to the RWA exhibition to look at all the artwork displayed all across the wall and it makes me hope and think that one day I probably will display mine in there as well.

What I have learned from this visit was, I have seen how many types of framing and wall mount are and also the appropriate size to print your images.
WINTER 2023-09/02/2023
It is always interesting when you can go out and spend a little bit of time outdoors.
When winter time, the deciduous only left branches to remind us this is winter time, couples will step outside and steam up with a cup of coffee, and people with high self-awareness will ride a bike to work.
Lens culture portrait award-13/02/2023
Last time I failed to win, but I did not disappoint because the point is until I get picked it means I am still not good enough. Now I went to the website again to take part in the photo contest “portrait award”.

I am so eager to learn by keeping my work out there to get recognition.
BE PART OF THE PHOTO CONTEST REVIEW-14/02/2023
Today I submitted one of my works to the photo crowd review with the intentioned to get a review of my work. the contest brief is inspired by Rankin’s photography style in portrait.

All I want is to keep exposing my work out there to keep pushing myself in the learning process.
Exploring the climate crises-20/02/2023
This week is the week that we talk more about the project that was set by Pearson. They set everyone right now doing the HNC worldwide with the same project that calls “Climate Crises”. This project is about how everyone needs to be aware of the climate change that happening right now.

This project made me realize that all humans made a mistake long ago and keep committing the mistake until now.
ANDY HUGHES-ONLINE CLASS-HNC-21/02/2023
Having a conversation through Teams online class with Andy Hughes was an amazing experience as well because we can see how art can be applied in many aspects including what Andy was doing the environmental care.

So many areas in photography to explore.
I questioned him about the kind of photography he picked throughout his early teenage years.
He stated that he did not select a certain genre, but rather views photography as a kind of art that he may shoot.
Identical to me right now. I have not yet determined what kind of photographer I want to be, although I am interested in Fine Art.
cyanotype printing-27-02-2023
I have included cyanotype as one of my research in project three (3), but that was the only theory that I discovered. Today practising it myself was kind of interesting and fun too, besides it added my knowledge on how to do it.

The CyanotypePrintThe Cyanotype or “Blue Print” was discovered in 1842 by John Frederick Willian Herschel who was an English scientist. It was initially unpopular due to its characteristic blue images. The process was made well known by Anna Atkins (1799-1871) and her book British Algae: Cyanotype Impressions. To produce Cyanotype prints two chemicals are mixed to coat paper and make it sensitive to UV light. They are AmmoniumIron Citrate and Potassium Ferricyanide.
The process by Mike Crocker.
•When mixed, the two chemicals are sensitive to UV light. They must be mixed in low light conditions well away from the bright daylight. They are mixed together at a ratio of 1:1.Chemicals are expensive so only use what you need. As with all photographic chemicals, avoid contact with your hands and eyes, and wash up spillages immediately. The Cyanotype chemicals are pretty safe to handle but this is best practice for all chemicals.

•Still under lowered light conditions, paint the mixture onto a durable watercolour-type paper with a brush. Ensure an even coat or be creative with the brush strokes. Different papers will have different effects. Alternatively, you can paint the chemicals on to fabric.

•It is possible to use the coated paper straight away wet or to allow it to dry. At this stage, you can also add bubbles to the paper for an additional effect.
•Place your subject matter over the coated side of the paper carefully. This could be plants or foliage, a paper or acetate negative, or any other item which is semi-transparent. The use of picture frames will squash everything together and hold it in place securely.
•Once everything is in place in the frame, expose the Cyanotype to bright daylight. This timing is pure guesswork and can be anything from 10 minutes to several hours. The cyanotype will start to change colour and go much darker. The darker the exposed print, the bluer the final result.
•After exposure, take the frame to a sink and remove the paper. Wash the paper in running water to wash away the excess chemicals. There should be some areas of the paper that have had no exposure to the sun and therefore remain paper white.
•After washing the print can be left to dry. Dry prints can then be toned in tea for additional effect or left blue as they are.
Basically, I can do it in two different ways:
1. Prepare a paper (Winsor & Newton) coated with the two chemicals, and let it dry for 15-30 minutes
2. Invert your image to negative in Photoshop and then print it onto acetate (some type of plastic sheet) with a mono printing setting.
3. Take your print and attach together to the coated paper and bring it to the UV exposure light unit to print from acetate to the coated paper. (the unit light exposure started from 900 units of light and went downward to 0 units of light, approximately 40-45 minutes).
Bottom line:
I practice mine as well and the below pictures are what I have achieved on the first try and second try.

Photograph the emissions from vehicles-28/02/2023

I spent lots of time photographing the cars that produce lots of emissions in the city centre from a low angle, and a higher angle on different days, times, and locations. I combine these three things to look from the car that could possibly demonstrate my project very well at the end.
Survey the location for my work to exhibit-14 march 2023
I am so thrilled because I can put out my work to exhibit to the public.

The plan is to put out the project about analogue photography in project 3-Fine Art. Can’t wait to print out and expose it.
VisitEd Martin Parr Foundation-14 march 2023

I had the chance to speak with the living legend one-on-one and engage in conversation with him about his work experience. I also introduced him to my climate crisis project, and he seemed to approve of my efforts. Even though he didn’t express his approval verbally, I could tell from his body language that he gave me the go-ahead to proceed with my effort.
I asked about his current camera preferences. He replied “Canon 5D Mark IV”
Isn’t it exciting to hear from some experienced photographers?

Participated in a photography talk at martin parr foundation-22/03/2023

Participating in the photography discussion led by the professional industry is an excellent addition to my to-do list. Because by participating in this type of event, I am able to see precisely how their work is executed to present it to the audience and how to respond to the audience’s expectations. I am always a member of the audience who is curious about the how, why, when, and where of something I love.
Pin up exhibition at college-27/02/2023

Today is the day that we can all display our school projects on the whiteboard at studio college for the event on Wednesday, March 29, 2023.
This is an excellent opportunity for me to exhibit my work in printed format.
This is a first for me, as my work has never been published for public consumption in printing versions.
My printing size is A3 and the printing-to-pin-up process takes approximately one minute.
The step as follow:
- Print your work in the desired size
- Prepare the board for the display of the print
- Measure the layout images on the board
- Use double side tape to tape behind the print
- display the print to the measured board
- use the pint tool to pin from the top of the image.
This is a good lesson to experience how to make it properly in the future.
location photography with Chris Hoare-18 April 2023
This workshop has taught me how to approach individuals and strangers ethically.
I completed this prior to attending the workshop with Chris.

I took several pictures in the street and learned where it is acceptable to do so and where it is not, including public areas and private property.
Chris’s work has increased my confidence in my ability to execute professionally.
Here are some of the photographs I shot during Chris’s workshop at the location.

After the session with Chris, I determined to capture my project by myself.
Location photography – Documenting a shutdown police station – Trinity Road Police Station, April 23, 2023.
The current Trinity Road station, which was inaugurated on February 7, 1979, by Her Royal Highness Princess Alexandra and featured 17 cells and space for 176 police officers and employees, required 640 thousand pounds for construction and equipment.
This location must be closed due to the high cost of maintaining this building and the fact that the majority of law enforcement personnel now use mobile phones, laptops, and other devices that perform significantly different than when they used desktop computers to complete the report. Due to the fact that police vehicles are now equipped with the internet, officers can perform their duties without exiting their patrol cars.
According to Officer Andrew, this area will shortly be developed by Guinness Homes Association into homes and apartments, and the association is contemplating incorporating a small police station into the plan.
In 2026–2027, when construction is complete, a new police station will reopen on the same site, which will also feature a total of one hundred affordable or shared ownership units.
Ten years ago, after the relocation of the detention centre, all of its inmates were transferred to larger, more secure facilities in Patchway and Keynsham.
For the time being, the Bridewell station patrol personnel can continue to maintain order in the area.
All furnishings will be donated to nonprofit and charitable organisations. The remainder of the non-useful property will be demolished, with the exception of all police vehicles.
It is unfortunate that this facility, which has assisted a significant number of individuals in the surrounding community, will be forced to close.
One of the officers, PC Andrew, who has worked at this station since 2005 and has recently transferred to Bridewell Station, stated that he believed this location served as a reminder of his entire police career.

Location photoshoot-Portrait Timor Leste 2023
In years gone by, there were
Yousuf Karsh used to photograph world-renowned politicians and artists for portraits.
Annie Leibovitz used to photograph renowned individuals for the international brand.
I believe I have discovered my interest in photography, specifically portraiture, and I would like to study more about outdoor or indoor portraiture with a light setup.
A friend of mine came to me today to commission a portrait for her Instagram account. I will use the portraits I created for her as part of my portfolio.

My current approach is that I would like to take as many photographs as possible of the people I know and preserve them for the future, as I believe they will be valuable in the future. I would like to do this because I have seen many famous posh photographers, such as Annie Leibovitz and others, release their work that contains portraits from the past in a book that has a massive historical value right now. As a result, I believe that in the future, when people look back at my work, they will be able to see how people have changed through time (Before and after).
I need only examine the particulars of a good portrait in conjunction with the artistic elements that involve the subject.
These are all the images that we adore, and I made a few minor adjustments to them.
Documentary of timor leste-20 may 2023
Timor Leste is still under construction.
East Timor, also known as Timor-Leste, is a country in Southeast Asia. Its official name is the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste. It consists of the eastern half of the island of Timor, which is governed by Indonesia, the autonomous region of Oecusse on the island’s northwestern side, and the remote islands of Atauro and Jaco. The Timor Sea divides the nation from its southern neighbour, Australia. The extent of the country is 14,874 sq.km (5,742 square miles).
Its capital and main metropolis is Dili. In the sixteenth century, Timor came under Portuguese influence and remained a Portuguese colony until 1975. Internal strife preceded the unilateral declaration of independence, invasion, and annexation by Indonesia. Indonesia relinquished its possessions in 1999 as a result of a self-determination act backed by the United Nations.
Throughout Indonesia’s rule, resistance persisted. Timor-Leste became the very first new Nation entity of the 21st century on May 20, 2002. That year, relations were established and restored with Indonesia, and Indonesia supported East Timor’s entry into ASEAN. The national government is semi-presidential, with the president elected by the people sharing authority with a prime minister chosen by the National Legislature.
Executive power is vested under the central government, despite the informal influence of various local leaders. The country adheres to the principle of international cooperation and is a part of the Community of Portuguese Language Nations, an observer of the Pacific Islands Forum, and a candidate for membership in ASEAN. The country’s economy relies significantly on natural resources, particularly oil, and foreign aid, and it remains relatively impoverished. Due to a high reproduction rate, the population exceeds 1,1 million and is involved substantially towards youthful individuals. Over the past fifty years, education has increased literacy, particularly in the two official languages, Portuguese and Tetum. The 30 indigenous languages the nation utilises reflect the country’s rich ethnic and linguistic diversity. Catholicism co-exists with strong local traditions, particularly in rural areas, as the majority of people are Catholic established by the Portugues.
In summary, the national government of this country is semi-presidential, with the president and prime minister sharing authority. The country values international cooperation and is a part of various organizations. Its economy relies on natural resources and foreign aid, and it has a relatively young population. Education has improved literacy rates, and the country has a rich ethnic and linguistic diversity. Catholicism is the predominant religion, but strong local traditions also exist. Timor Leste is still under construction.

BALINESE 13-16 of may 2023
Bali, a renowned tourist destination, has significantly shaped the international perception of Indonesia. In contrast to the national norm, Balinese culture is strikingly unique, particularly in terms of its Hindu-animist religion. Writings from the ninth and tenth centuries A.D. document the development of Balinese kingdoms that were eventually conquered by Javanese rule. King Batu Renggong of Gelgel united Bali in the sixteenth century. Today, the dominant social and religious order remains.
Tourism has made Bali one of the most prosperous regions in Indonesia, while simultaneously promoting and distorting traditional culture.
Language The Austronesian language most closely related to Balinese is Sasak, the language of Lombok. Their traditional script was a distinct form of the Javanese alphabet, but they now use Latin letters primarily.

Balinese are predominantly Hindu, with minuscule Christian and Buddhist minorities, in contrast to the overwhelming majority of Indonesians. The Indian paradigm is infused with indigenous elements in their Hinduism. Good and evil are balanced in their religious practices. Therefore, Balinese sacrifice to both spirits and demons. They acknowledge a variety of preternatural entities, such as demons, ancestral spirits, and divinities such as the solar deity Surya and the rice deity Dewi Sri.
I would like to present what Bali looks like in street photography style.

In this documentary about Bali Street, I shot with EOS R and 70-200mm f/2.8.
The weather was extremely hot and bright. My ISO was simply set between 100 and 400, my aperture is wide based on the scene, and my shutter speed is also adjusted based on the environment. Due to the sun’s constancy, however, my camera’s settings remain largely unchanged.
